When lumber baron Charles Prentiss asked Lucy to marry him and return to Seven Timbers, she accepted happily, but with a sense of strange foreboding.

There had been a haunted look in Prentiss' eyes from the first moment she had met him, and her worst fears were soon to be realized.

Lucy had felt a sinister and threatening presence upon her arrival at the grim dwelling. Was it true that the ghost of the first Mrs. Prentiss really haunted the lodge?
