For the survivors of the Locus virus, it can hardly be otherwise. Food is limited, friends are scarce, and the harshly mutated creatures the plague has spawned consume whatever they find-including their once fellow man. But Brice was a boxer once. He fights on. He survives. What else can you do?Kyler's been alone for a long time too-ever since his husband Isaac was turned. A talented scientist who worked hard, and failed, to stop the virus before it got out of hand. Kyler now lives alone in his hideout, venturing out to study the monstrosities that roam the streets, making sure to steer clear of the few humans left. When the two meet by chance on a rooftop, they're thrown together by fate and flying monsters. It could be a second chance for the both of them, but Brice's painful past feeds his fear of betrayal as Kyler's positivity, generosity, and desire for companionship becomes more than a chivalrous jest. Despite wily raiders, ravaging Gargoyles, and rising tensions built upon years of personal trauma, an improbable spark is born. A spark, however, is a tender and fragile thing.
