About This Book

A unlikely enemy...

As the war between Britain and Germany rages, the British are rushing to complete a vital railway link in East Africa, but progress is hindered by hostile terrain and the depredations of two man-eating lions.

While the hungry animals continue to prowl and kill, and the colony slowly bleeds to death under German attack, two men face the greatest challenge of their careers.

Colonel Frederick Storey was once a famous hunter. Richard Kendon is an American engineer caught in a war not his own.

The two unlikely friends must band together against nature's fiercest creatures to protect not only their own lives, but the lives of those who live on the edge of the railway line.

Set in British East Africa, Scholefield tells a story that encapsulates the First World War encounter in British and German East Africa, the building of a railway line both countries wanted, and two man-eating lions thrown in for excitement.
