Lili and the Changing Man

Lili had just moved into a new house. Again. It was the second time in less than a month Mom and Dad had put everything inside a bunch of boxes just to unbox it all over again. They'd stayed in the previous house for almost two whole weeks and Lili was already starting to unravel all its nooks and crannies. The only place left to explore was the basement. But then Mom and Dad put everything back in boxes just a couple of days after Mom started writing her new book. For two straight nights Lili had awakened screaming because of a terrible nightmare. Something about a very short tall man who was as fat as he was thin. Lili called him the Changing Man. In her nightmare he was blind but always looked into her eyes. He was voiceless but he could speak. He always said the same: don't go down to the basement.
