The Marquis of Rosyth' voice deepened as he spoke, "Have I spoilt what you felt for me, my precious?

Neoma moved a little nearer to him.

"I am... sure that if you... kiss me... we will find it is still there." She only whispered the words but the Marquis heard them.

He put his arms out, she moved into them, and he held her very gently against him.

"Oh, my little light of the Moon," he cried, "Having found you I think it would kill me if I lost you."

"That is... how I felt... when I thought I had... lost you."
