Life From the Machine

As a companion android, Marcus is designed to follow his master’s every command. But when his mind is hacked and his safeguards are removed, Marcus gains the ability to defy those orders and choose the course of his own life.

But as worldwide cataclysms cause the last golden age of mankind to crumble into war, Marcus must not only fight against the raiders who would destroy him, but also hide his autonomy from the allies who, if they found out, would surely do the same to the unbound android.
