About This Book

Level Ground is the final novel in thetrilogy story that began with Stolen Shadows and continued with Spiral Passage. Dr. Lauren McFadden and husband, Bryan, care for eight teens and young adults with special needs. As the final chapters unfold, a plane crash leaves 19 year-old Terry Evans a double arm amputee. He wants no part of rehab, prosthetics, or a new family, and continually makes life miserable for the other boys with his malicious attitude. Jeff Gaithers was supposed to be Bryan's intern, but a near-fatal diving accident leaves the 21 year-old college student blind and high level quadriplegic. His family can't care for him, so Jeff finds a new home at the McFadden estate. In spite of his severe impairments, Jeff sees hope for a future and feels more love and attention that he's ever felt in his entire life. The younger boys weather the storms and sunny days of adolescence. There's romance in the house when Michael and Philip find girlfriends. Adam's new love reaches a devastating climax when a lie changes Noah's life forever. And in the end, through a tragic loss, each boy learns an invaluable lesson in personal dignity.
