Let No One Run You

Viking, a Vietnam vet turned hobo, for the last twenty years of his life has been riding trains, fighting and accomplishing nothing. Now consider Lisette, a forty year old dysfunctional beauty who has a long history of choosing the wrong kind of men and totaling messing up her life. But a chance meeting between Viking and Lisette at a friend's club has a surprising twist. On the spur of the moment, Lisette hops a train with Viking to Montana to get away from her environment. They have some close calls with adventure and a run in with a nasty railroad gang. Then she receives news from home that an aunt is dead. Out of guilt, she and Viking return to Louisiana where she tries to intercede for her other aunt against her controlling, racist brother. But on the way, they meet a retired veteran and Viking opens up and Lisette sees first hand the trauma Viking lives in every day. At the same time, Viking's closest friend, Bones, once a P.O.W. is having his own troubles in California, and journey to Louisiana to join his friend. Once Lisette is home and after several confrontations and abuse from her brother and his gang, the friend with the club, Lescat, whisks Lisette deep into the bayou with relatives, and in the ongoing weeks she finds who she is. Meanwhile, Viking is struggling with his own demons and joins her in the swamp with the treaters (Creole healers) and a whole new world opens up for her and Viking. Shockingly, an old hobo and a friend of Viking, is robbed and left for dead by an old enemy, the railroad gang. Viking promises vengeance and struggles with his emotions for Lisette. In the past, he always hopped a train when responsibilities arise. But his love for Lisette causes him to remain. When Lisette's wealthy aunt arrives from New Orleans to take things into her own hands, she forces Lescat to confess he is her real father, and learning Lisette is pregnant demands that Lisette and Viking marry despite all the odds against them for longevity.
