While healing from her injuries, Maggie falls in love with Sam. He quickly proposes and on her wedding day, an unaware of his existence the twin brother of Cal's appears. The next morning, she awakens in a bed with Matt as her husband. Confused, he explains she has amnesia. After several weeks, Sam rescued her a second time in her life and blamed Matt as the mastermind, who is arrested. Separated, from her protector, he flies them to Mexico to live. Dishearten about her family's ranch was sold, and swiftly discovers who to trust and love and not too. Exceedingly happy to realize she'll be cradling a new life in her arms in seven months. But Sam's choice saddens her heart that he turned back to alcohol.
