About This Book

Laura has a mutiny on her hands when she tries to play by the rules in this non-stop wild-western comedy from award-winning author Guy Bass.

Laura Norder lives her life by the Golden Rules and so should everybody else. But being Sheriff of Butts Canyon at the age of ten is a big job to handle, and when a no-good rule-breaking bandit causes chaos in the town, enough is enough! It's time for Laura to step up to the plate and catch the masked mischief-maker before he breaks any more of her rules!

Particularly suitable for readers aged 7+ with a reading age of 7.

Reviews

"A rootin' tootin', pun-laden book that parents and children will enjoy reading together – especially if you're the type that like to put on a voice or two when you perform" – The Letterpress Project

"A laugh-out-loud fun tale featuring a feisty cowgirl sheriff, who has trouble on her hands as she tries to get everyone else to play by the rules" – National Literacy Trust

"Guy Bass comes out all guns blazing in his latest comic adventure which features some typically wonderful characters … It's very funny indeed, but there are lessons for us all and a sly bit of political satire too. Yee haw!" – LoveReading4Kids, Book of the Month

"Wonderfully witty with the most superbly named characters to make children giggle (perhaps they can make up some more?), this is a Wild West adventure girls and boys will love" – Parents in Touch

"Guy Bass is a hilarious writer for primary school aged children, and particularly adept with an amusing pun … full of brilliant cowboy slogans and Wild West atmosphere" BookTrust
