In the second book in the trilogy, Josie Grace's family must close Grace Stables and find a new home for Hope. While she is patient and gentle, she has an allergy to gnat bites that causes her to rub and gnaw at her mane and other areas down to the skin. Josie can hardly bear to part with her horse, let alone have to defend her appearance to those who turn up their noses at her. When Friendship House, a facility that takes physically challenged children in for a week or two at a time, seems interested in Hope, the Graces think they have found the perfect home.
