Last Emergence

Last Emergence is a Young Adult Science Fiction Novel, set 3000 years after an alien directed asteroid impacted Earth. Descendants, of three joined space stations, watch, as two groups of humans emerge from underground, and claw their way back toward civilization. When those people rediscover radio, the aliens will detect the emissions and return again. The Earth Station inhabitants lost their ability to withstand Earth's gravity many generations earlier. In a desperate attempt to forestall the inevitable, two survivors of the unsuccessful space defense battle are recovered and revived from cold sleep, before they are sent back to Earth. This is their story. Mark Clemens watched the display. In ten minutes he would follow Anna back to Earth. The jet-stream blew her shuttle further north then she could correct. She landed on an island a hundred miles north of the planned landing site. Mark was not sure there was enough fuel to reach the woman he loved. He understood the logic of using both shuttles for this mission, but, unless he could reach her, she would be alone in a fifteenth century world.
