A man travels to a distance planet to meet the alien who killed him 65 years earlier. This is a story of time travel. Sent out on a long range patrol to see what the starnge signal was in front of the massive ship known as Mother Earth, one of two humans sobbers up enough to realize they're going to a place he doesn't know anything about despite the fact he remembers he has been there at least a dozen times.
Once there the alien tells him the story of the Battle of Planets. Where 5,000 armies fought to see which was the best. The human and alien are two of the four survivors.
The pious junior human realizing he's out of it, learns how to get drunk - the national sport on the planet.
