About This Book

After nearly seven years of peace with the neighboring Sioux tribe, it appeared something had gone wrong. There had been three massacres in one year. It appeared to be raiding Indians; however, Marshal Landcaster found the facts to be different. After a run-in with a couple of outlaws he had been tracking, some of the pieces of the puzzle came together. The search led to Scottsbluff where he found the town terrified of a family named Merritt—a large family, who up until two years ago had been peace-loving homesteaders. Then farmsteads were being burned out or the tenants murdered. With the aid of an old prairie rat by the name of Dan Curry, Marshal Landcaster attempts to collect enough evidence to arrest the individuals behind these murders.
