Before the Boys were Gamadin, before Fate changed their lives forever, before their discovery of an ancient starship, there was a Southern California city where they grew up. There is nothing particularly unusual or supernatural about the city. They went to school there, ate hamburgers, shakes, and pizza, went to the movies, played baseball, football, and surfed. It was where pretty, sun-tanned girls populated the nearby white sandy beaches, and sliding down the face of a wave was what life was all about. Traveling to distant stars was the farthest thing from their playful imaginations. So what turned these fun-loving boys into future Gamadin? How did they become defenders of the galaxy? Were they born to this future? How did seemly normal boys find the character, the courage, and the sense of right and wrong necessary to serve their ultimate purpose?
