Lady Katherine

Like a wild animal pouncing on its prey, Jacques lunged toward Kitty. She thrust out her arms to push him away but fear drained the blood from her head. The kaleidoscope of stars tumbling in her eyes threw her off balance.

Her weak ankle twisted. Grimacing, Kitty directed her pain into bold defiance, "God will save us!"
