Diana Milton, widow of the Earl of Windom, dislikes her husband's fusty relations, particularly handsome, arrogant Lord Arnside. When Arnside's fiancee, Penelope, runs away from school, Diana becomes the girl's protector -- much to the horror of the gentleman. But when Arnside shows a special affinity for Diana's beloved little boy, she unexpectedly loses her heart to him.
