The reckless Lady Isabel Morden, 19, whose noble father is off fighting with the King's Cavaliers in the war against Cromwell's revolutionaries, falls into the hands of the enemy -- in the person of Robert Wells, a disenfranchised young nobleman who fights on the side of Cromwell.
