About This Book

KISS OF PEACE is a novel based on the facts and circumstances of German immigrants who fled to the United States to escape from Nazi persecution and then got caught in the web of America's wartime hysteria. All characters and events in this story are fictitious.
The story is told through the eyes of Max Rosen, a thirteen-years old German immigrant, whose mother is arrested as a dangerous Pro-Nazi at the start of WW II and deported to Germany. Max and his Jewish dad flee from the FBI to St. Anne, Florida to live with his Jewish grandparents. His dad hides in a third-floor storeroom.
Max assumes a false identity and his life becomes a continuous series of misadventures caused by his grandmother's mistreatments and problems in his new school stemming from his false identity and wartime hysteria.
