Kindled Flame

As resentment against the Crown's unfair policies continues to draw the Colonies ever closer to revolution, spoiled, romantic-minded Jane Haynes is concerned only with herself. She is enamored with dashing British Officer Ted Harrington, whom she is convinced will be her ticket to a beneficial marriage--and nothing will stand in her way of snagging him--not even if it means betraying her own family.

Ted appreciates the information Jane provides him, but the deeply Christian example he sees in his sister Susannah and her husband Dan Haynes makes Ted question whether duty or what he believes is God's call on his life is more important.

Jane's younger sister Emily does not share Jane's moral dilemma. With no thought regarding propriety or her own safety, she aids a young Scot fleeting from His Majesty's burning schooner, the Gaspee.

When Ted determines to capture the deserter, Jane once again must weigh her loyalties. Is she really willing to betray her fugitive sister and everything her family believes for 'the man of her dreams?
