When two planes crash on the same day, Mike Gilham is overloaded with pressures from the media. The first crash is a small plane carrying a single family. The manufacturer has been in the headlines repeatedly after many similar crashes.

Later that morning, a major international airliner crashes into the Potomac river. Mike is rapidly pulled into a vast web of intrigue. At the centre of it all, a new missile defence shield system. Could the government really have shot the plane down?

Based on high-profile disasters such as TWA800, PanAm 103 over Lockerbie, MH370 and MH17, as well as US Airways Flight 1549 which featured in the recent hit movie Sully.
