Kate Alone

From the moment Kate first set eyes on the mischievous McDuff, she and the little Scottie were inseparable. Now Kate was celebrating Duff's return home from the vet after getting "fixed." He was kind of old for an operation, but she knew that if anyone could take it, it was Duff.

But suddenly he was growling at strangers. And then one evening he bit her sister's fiance. Yet there was Duff, still sitting on Kate's hair, playfully throwing his bowl across the room as thought nothing was wrong.

Then it happened again. Maybe one bite was a mistake, a scare caused by the vet. But two bites meant only one thing. And Kate knew what she had to do. But could she handle it?
