Kali's Eye

The tale of a diamond... World War Two was getting up a head of steam and things were dicey in the Far East when George and I were sent from India to my Uncle's manor house in Yorkshire. We would be safe there, or so my father had assured us, even with the antics of my three impetuous cousins. We were in England, the land of cows and daisies and afternoon tea; what could possibly go wrong? But then the fun ended, because a bit of India had travelled with us, a bit of India that looked like a drop of the sunlight that rains down on a summer's day...it was a diamond...a mysterious yellow diamond. And it was wanted.
