Juba and Drummond

The townsfolk of Tullahassee, Oklahoma are awed by the young woman they remember as the wild tomboy who ran around town - dirty, barefoot, and always causing trouble. Now, after completing medical school, Dr. Juba Gibson returns home, refined and well- respected by those from back east. She is ecstatic to be the one caring for her fellow townsfolk. But to her surprise, Tullahassee has made many changes - some good and some not so good. She is shocked to learn that some of the people do not accept her as the new doctor, but she will not be deterred. She figures she will just have to prove them wrong and change their way of thinking.Deputy Marshal Drummond Washington does not recognize the new young woman who has just arrived in town. Good Lord, she is beautiful. Later, he learns that the woman in question is none other than the town nuisance who used to follow him all over creation. Now, he has to place Juba to the side because she could be a distraction that he doesn't have time for. He has other deep-rooted heartbreaks to deal with - like finding the outlaws who massacred his family.
