Laura Jean Libbey (1862-1924) was an American writer. The highly popular author of fiction, her works were what became known as dime novels. Today they would be categorised as formulaic romance novels. In 1898, at the age of 36, she married a lawyer. In the 1920s some of her novels were filmed.
