About This Book

BLURB The second of the three John Sixtyacre novels follows the platoon as it transforms itslf into a tribe and proceeds from Ahmarand to An Hui on the Amur River. As I began with Book I, I have sought to depict the conditions in this world of somewhere around 5,999 or 6,999 years ago as they actually were, with no Hollywood or TV hokum added to the mix.. Too much of modern fiction is constructed around ‘stick' figures where the author throws them in merely to depict what he wants them to do. They never learn, never develop and invariably mirror the mind-set of the time and place of the scribbler who penned his tale. The result is some tale where a 25th Century hero merely reflects the ideas and prejudices of the 21st Century and a 10,000 b.c.e. thinks like a 20th Century c.e. American woman. There are no stick figures here. What I have sought to do is to tell a story where there are no super-heroes, no super-villains, but a lot of ordinary folk acting and reacting to the world around them in a believable fashion. I hope you enjoy it. G.W.H.
