When Nurse Sheelagh Landers discovers that her future as the wife of Doctor Michael Kelman is less important to him than his career, she is so hurt that she runs away, from one side of America to the other. She takes to the skies as a jet nurse, working in a new and exciting, if less satisfying world - and finds a glamorous pilot, Terry Fitzsimmonds, who is more than willing to take over where Michael left off.
