JESUS: The Silent Years

The accounts of Jesus' young life leave a gap of eighteen years in His New Testament story. Christian tradition suggests that He simply lived in Galilee during that period, while modern scholarship holds that there is little historical information to determine what happened during those years. St. Matthew poses a revealing question: Is not this the carpenter's son? to suggest that carpentry had been a family business and Jesus was engaged in it before starting His preaching and ministry. This novel, a work of fiction, follows Jesus as he visits all of the synagogues in the country, learning as much as he can about the people he is chosen to redeem. The years between thirteen and thirty are eventful and memorable for most of us. What must they have been like for the Son of God?
