About This Book
Johnny Kershaw, a hunk, weary of the phony glitz and glam of Hollywood, a flame from Jade's past, returns to their home town in the Midwest, U.S. Despite his accumulated wealth, he has reached a low point in his life. Between movies, Johnny finds his marriage to a beautiful starlet is collapsing. His mother is dying of cancer. He becomes consumed in his longing for his high school girlfriend. Jade, now slightly heavy, but still a beautiful, black woman, cares about him. At a crossroad in their lives, fresh out of bad marriages, their ex's threaten to over-shadow any relationship they may undertake. Jade is shocked beyond belief and wonders how love can occur. Her long, lost love Johnny, a person who is recognized in most households, shows interest in her, of all people. He professes that fame is phony. He cares about her and it shows in action and deed. She represents all that is honest, real and down to earth--something he can't find in tinsel town. The chemistry sizzles like bacon in a hot skillet. A beauty operator, Jade's friends, patrons and even her angry, dishonest ex-husband, looks on helplessly while Johnny wines, dines and takes her into his heart and ultimately into his bed. She owns a shop in Illinois, located hundreds of miles east of California. How can they possibly get together? Both are out of bad marriages. Can they find a love that thrives? Johnny can have his pick of well-known starlets, but he only yearns for Jade. Will they fall in love, work out their differences and the geographical distance between them, and forge out a relationship that will last forever
