About This Book

Raiford Cay was a tiny island in the Bahamas which had belonged to the Raiford family since colonial days. Nurse Eugenia Hayes, escorting a small patient there, was enchanted by its beauty and welcomed the opportunity to stay on to care for crippled Henry Raiford.

However, she soon discovered that her paradise was not without its serpents in the form of mystery, suspicion and dark cross-currents of drama and intrigue. Henry Raiford's true illness seemed to be different from the malady described to his nurse, also, he refused to see his wife and son, although they shared the same house and there was no apparent reason for enmity. The Raiford's blonde ward, Janice, looked like an angel but revealed to Eugenia wings tarnished by selfishness and deceit.

Since the R.N. had been taught to mend bodies, not souls, she felt her task was a hopeless one -- but she courageously remained to meet the challenge.
