Nine sleepless months have passed since the PDN was successfully powered up and the alien ships destroyed. Darrel has spent the months struggling with survivor’s guilt, while he and Penelope help build a new community in Santa Barbara. Maggy and Félix, who have been dealing with PTSD like many of the survivors, have rooted out all but a remnant band of invaders. But now the enemy is back, set on a rescue operation, and in a heartbeat the friends are stolen from their homeworld and their lives go from bad to the brink of annihilation.
