About This Book

Malin Strand is the female Scandinavian pilot on a ship from the Middle Eastern world of Al Namas. Old Earth has been in quarantine since the middle of the 21st century and mankind is spread among many worlds near the center of the galaxy. Malin and the crew of the Tafilalt are leaving the American planet of Dallas and heading for a moon in the Dallas system when an unidentified ship comes out of jumpspace and begins to pursue them. A jump lock is put on the Tafilalt and the United Church Military Vessel Ulysses pulls alongside.
When Captain Al Makahleh protests he is informed that the ship will be boarded within five minutes by Bishop Diarmid McNeill. They can run if they wish but if they do that then the United Church ship will blast them to smithereens. Ice forms in the pit of Malin’s stomach for she has upset someone on Dallas and she knows it is her that the Bishop wants to see. To be interrogated by a Bishop of the United Church is the worst thing that can happen to anyone on all the worlds. Malin knows that if things go badly then she will be a prisoner of the United Church for the rest of her life.
