About This Book

Palliser, a white man who was captured by the Indians, decides that becoming a renegade is what he needs to do in order to survive.

Later, when a group of white men are discovered in the forest by the Indians, Palliser, desiring to impress the Indian chief, agrees to enter the white men's camp as an escaped captive and keep them off guard until the Indians can launch a surprise attack.

The story is about how Palliser reacts to the treatment he receives from those he came to destroy.
