Jason Matherson has returned from the war in a coma. Upon waking, he learns he was the cause of a horrendous helicopter crash while serving in Iraq. Without any memory, he struggles to find the truth about the crash, learning that his best friend, Marley Wilks, was one of the victims. Stemming from his addictive medication, visions of Marley Wilks awaken his darkened memories of Iraq. As Jason delves into the darkness of his damaged memory, he finds himself stuck between the living world and the dream world. In the dream world, he can see through the eyes of a murderer, who is savagely killing the surviving soldiers before Jason can get the truth out of them. With the aid of an amateur medicine man, Jason learns how to use his dreams to decipher the hidden secret of the crash, the murders, and the meaning of his own life.
