In a Drum Beat

Set on St. Simons Island, Georgia during the Second Happy Time, also know as Operation Drumbeat. April 8, 1942, U-123 sank the SS Esso Baton Rouge and the SS Oklahoma off the coast of St. Simons. An engrossing work of fiction that follows Sebastian Klaus who is marooned in America after his boat the U-115, is sunk and he must assimilate into the rural south Georgia culture to avoid being shot or hung as a Nazi spy with the unwitting aid of his extended American family, the owners of German Village Plantation. Complicating matters, he finds himself falling for a local redheaded beauty.
