A razor-witted satire of Hollywood and the American Dream. Broke, silver-tongued producer Jake Borden wants to make it big in Hollywood. Unfortunately, his business, luxury car and other luxuries purchased with borrowed cash are about to be taken away—until he meets a talented young actress suffering from life-threatening anorexia. The gears in Jake's mind start turning, and a plan forms: if he can nurse this girl back to health, she'll be perfect for a biopic of a famous singer. But as Jake's plan pushes him to the summit of Hollywood success and the American Dream he also finds that at the top, the sharks get bigger—and sometimes the smaller fish get eaten.
