That's what some kids call the ones who make it into LEAP—our school's special program for smart kids. Like me. Just because I passed one lousy test, everyone thinks I'm a nerd. Even my best friends, Melinda and Chrisey, are acting weird. They're hanging out with Erica, the popularity princess herself. And she's starting her own "party club"--no LEAP creeps allowed!

So who wants to be in her stupid club, anyway? Well, I do. I mean, what good are brains if you don't have friends? But if I'm so smart, I should be able to figure a way into Erica's club even if am a "LEAP creep!"
