The daughter of an outlaw, Kate Miller hoped to finally escape her past when she moved to Moose Gulch, Montana. The small gold-mining town seemed to he a safe haven for Kate and her mother until a handsome stranger began taking his meals at the hotel where Kate worked. Kate thought Parker Smith was just passing through town, but he soon settled in Moose Gulch to become its sheriff. On the surface, Parker seemed like a good man.
