Nathanial Ellis is the enigmatic and distant father of the child Jane is hired to tutor in rural Montana. The little girl, Morgan, is haunted by the death of her mother. Jane and Morgan soon realize they have much in common. If Jane can rationalize her sensual dreams and help Morgan deal with the death of her mother, she might be able to stay in Montana. That is, of course, if the wolves don't get her first.
