Hope & Shiny Things

When Earth is overwhelmed by aliens with superior technology, Edward knows the only hope for the survivors is to escape to the Lighthouse. Edward was one of the wealthiest men alive.  And even after Earth is gone, he believes things will go well for him.  His spaceships are loaded with gold and precious gems and he has the Lighthouse...and his secrets. His daughter, Jessica, wants to trust fully in his decisions but she soon begins to realize he is not the man she thought he was.  Jessica forms a fast friendship with Captain Thomas, an attractive sailor who works for her father, but, in him too, Jessica senses darkness. The few who have escaped Earth’s destruction look to Edward for survival.  Shiny things have always held an allure for him but, ultimately, the lives of many will depend on his choices.  Will Edward have what it takes to save the remnants of humanity and himself as well?
