Gearshift is a driver who can drive anything. He often drives at speed because he often has the cops or worse right behind him. Dipstick is a mechanic who can fix anything and they make a great team.

Hooter, the owner of the Horny Dolphin pole dancing club, employs them as bouncers, booze-runners, hired muscle and anything else that pays.

What pays at the moment, at least for Hooter, is a consignment of illegally imported e-cigarettes that Gearshift and Dipstick have to take across the country for him.
