Maddy MacDonald's first days at PCU brought yet another new beginning for the girl who spent her childhood moving from town to town. This time, however, quirky Maddy has made up her mind to set down roots. Unfortunately, she learns that's easier said than done after finding herself in all kinds of trouble -- trouble that threatens her future at PCU.

As it turns out, Maddy's fun-loving boyfriend, Kick, may love fun just a little too much -- and he seems determined to get Maddy to join him in his misadventures. Yet, even as Maddy struggles to avoid the party scene, her mere association with Kick may provide the ammunition a disgruntled co-worker needs to get her booted out of the library -- and the school -- for good.

Will a misunderstanding lead to her dismissal from the college? Or will Maddy finally find at PCU an anchor for her Homeward Heart?
