Staff Nurse Kate Reagan returned to her roots at Colney Bay, taking up a post on the children's ward at Elizabeth Hospital, for, when Sister Adele Fox left on maternity leave, Kate would be in line for promotion.
A pity, then, that she should clash with consultant pediatrician Charles Patrick, also a new broom, and not always as sensitive to the children's needs as he might be. It didn't help either that Dr. Estelle Carruthers had no compunction about causing problems. Bad enough that all this should happen at work, but appalling when Charles took over the flat above Kate's. Was nowhere free of him?
