About This Book

This is not your ordinary ocean cruise!

It is definitely a bad day for Wishbone! First, he gets kidnapped by five-year-old Emily Barnes. If that isn't enough, a land-development company tries to bulldoze one of Oakdale's favorite trees. The area surrounding the treasured tree is a special place for Joe Talbot, and it contains some of Wishbone's best burying spots. Somebody has to stop the guy who runs the company! All of these troubles remind Wishbone of Odysseus, the ancient Greek hero from Homer's great adventure tale The Odyssey. Imagining himself as Odysseus, Wishbone must battle a Cyclops, outsmart the sea god Poseidon, and dog-paddle his way through many other dangers in order to return to his homeland. Some days, it just doesn't pay to get out of bed!
