Homecoming

Seven centuries ago, Earth's infant first colony was mysteriously cut off without a ship of its own. For thirty generations the colonists have focused on survival, establishment, growth; their agrarian society evolving in an absence of war, with cooperation as the key.

Now New Home has its own space program. When the first expedition lands on Earth, Captain Ram Uithoudt finds himself in a Middle Eastern empire where brutality and intrigue are the norm. To the West are rapacious feudal lords. And raiding the marches are the violent barbarian tribes of the inscrutable and deadly Nils Jarnhann.
