About This Book

Volcanic autumn has become a reality, holding the planet in an icy grip. As autumn turns to winter, Earth's climate gets even colder: the North Sea freezes over, the Gulf Stream congeals and the monsoons cease. Under the shade of a global ash shroud crop failure becomes widespread and famine knocks on the door. Human society suffers from a shivering fit, aggravating old inflamed wounds and diseases. Man's basic needs become naked; riots, civil wars and violence are plaguing mankind and further decimating the number of inhabitants. The world as we know it today will soon cease to exist and mankind uses all methods available for his survival. Maria returns to her homeland Cuba - a nation that has changed a lot. Her burning enthusiasm from her youth strengthens her in the daily survival for herself and her sick son. She's also constantly worried for her grandma, who still lies in a coma. Among her grandma's belongings, she finds some old diaries, and secrets from the past are revealed. If she np longer can save the world, she might at least be able to save Cuba from economic disaster and its population from death by starvation. But the actions taken by Maria are looked upon with disapproval by powerful economic groups. How much can they accept, before they themselves have to react?
