It was no easy task for a young man to take over as head of an old school like Clere, but some of Daniel Wyatt's methods were a little too much for Verity to take...especially when her own father had been the previous high master. And the last person Verity wanted as the new head of the school where she worked was Daniel Wyatt.

Her mother had been trying to make a match of the two of them for years -- a fact that was obvious to everyone. To Verity it was a source of acute embarrassment! Even Daniel probably knew.
