Not everyone is the hero of their own story …

Bottom-rung office worker Sevin Naughtiér probably shouldn't be alive. His nose spontaneously leaks a weird tarlike substance and he possesses the inexplicable ability to run faster than any other creature on Earth. Not to mention that a new coworker vividly remembers him committing suicide back when they were both in middle school.

It's an odd existence—but so long as the local bars serve all his favorite whiskeys, he sleeps just fine. Until the shadows become restless. When Sevin becomes the target of superhuman, self-proclaimed "heroes," he must figure out how to move fast enough to solve the mystery of his reality while fighting to stay alive.
