Life is a balancing act at the best of times, but when someone tries to tip the scales in the wrong way, the results could be devastating.

Life is falling into a comfortable routine for newlyweds, Cheyenne and Quinlan O'Connor when Cheyenne takes on a new accounting client. A big fish with big accounting problems. The more she digs, the deeper the quagmire becomes and the more obsessed she is to find the problem. Her loving cowboy cop has something to say about the disruptions to their life and Cheyenne finds it difficult to be submissive when her secrets and safety become out of control.

Quinn knows moving to Montana was a sacrifice for Cheyenne so when she decides on another new client, he is resistant but agrees. That is until someone vandalizes their home and offices, her truck is tampered with, and more. He watches his bride go from fun loving to moody and avoidant. Unable to sit back any longer, his dominant nature emerges in full protective mode. He intends to save Cheyenne from forces both internal and external by using any means necessary.
