Hell's Heaven

Earth in the seventh dimension is the only place portals go through. If physics on the Earth of a different dimension allow magic, it will work on Earth Seven.

General Max Hollande heads up project Time View. An archeologist looking for a tribe of vanished Native Americans shows him a hologram of dead Roman soldiers and tanks guarding the opening to a cave. There had been a spaceship but the army confiscated it.

Max leads an expedition back in time but is diverted to Earth Seven, where a robot from the 26th century that was partially destroyed in a battle tells him the Americans didn't share the spaceship technology, and that led to a war and Earth is now devoid of life. The robot was to destroy the spaceship before it is found but is too badly damaged to help. General Hollande's problems are just starting in a place that could be Hell's playground.
